When a pregnant stray dog realizes she’s being adopted, she instantly melts
This is the emotional moment when a poor stray dog understands people can also be friendly and sheds tears. The dog, who was heavily pregnant, was exploring the streets searching for food when she came across a couple eating lunch on the side of the road. The stray pittie had only hoped for some leftovers when she was adopted, and the experience was too much for her to handle.
When Jacks Anderson and her wife stopped to buy some food from a street vendor, they first noticed the black pit bull mix!
“She never took her eyes off of us,” Anderson told The Dodo, “yet she didn’t come close or beg for food. The stand’s owners came out and shooed her along the sidewalk. She was clearly terrified, and she vanished.”
It was on their way back home when the couple discovered the dog was pregnant. As a result, they pulled over and offered her a bite to eat. Anderson’s wife, on the other hand, felt sorry for the poor puppy and tried to pet her and feed her from her hand, trying to gain her trust in this way.
However, they both realized they couldn’t leave her there, so they decided to take the dog with them in their car. The dog became so sensitive that she cried for delight when she learned she was safe and receiving comfort from a stranger. Anderson captured the beautiful moment on video!
“We just kind of paused at that time to enable Poppy (as they finally named the puppy) to settle down a bit,” the man explained, “but honestly, she was way more peaceful than I imagined. As I began to shoot the footage of my wife comforting her, I noticed Poppy’s eyes were welling up with tears. I’ve never seen that in a dog before, and it definitely made an impression.”
The dog was subsequently taken to the veterinarian by the two very nice persons. Her condition was excellent, notwithstanding the presence of fleas. As a result, Anderson and his wife decided to foster Poppy for a few days until she could be adopted. But those few days were enough for them to fall head over heels in love with Poppy and decide to adopt her.
“Poppy is the type of dog who craves affection,” Anderson explained. “Poppy is going to stay with us. We’re always learning more about her and gaining his trust. We’re essentially huge foster failures, but there are worse things in life!”
