How to spot a fake person

five features of a fake person

Three features of a fake person

The quality of the people you surround yourself with undoubtedly affects your life. Think about it; as humans, we are the average of the ten people we frequently associate with. Those who we work or walk with will impact you in more ways than one. The people close to you can be uplifting, positive, genuine, or on the flip side, they can be fake, negative, and depressing. Know this; people don’t always show their authentic selves during their initial interaction with you. But the characteristics and signs will let you know what type of person you’re dealing with.

So, having the capacity to spot the characteristics of a fake person will save you in the long run. Remember, life is short and precious to waste your energy on people who are cunning and insincere. There are certain things you need to watch out for. You have to know what those things are precise.

The characteristics to watch out for in a fake person

Cunning individuals understand the fact that they’re disingenuous. And for whatever reason, these fake individuals have also decided that slithering throughout the world is their best course of action. But, eventually, how they behave and treat someone will come back to hunt them, but that is none of your business; at least the consequences of their actions aren’t your crosses to bear. Instead, what you should be concerned about is what to watch out for and be responsible in scenarios with these types of people and the steps to take to protect yourself.

  • Gossiping

Looking out for people who talk behind your back is one of the characteristics to look out for when dealing with people around you. Please take note of how someone else talks about others in their life. It is a clear indicator of how they’ll talk about you behind your back. A person willing to gossip with you will also gossip about you. Fake people are always amicable until they are not in your presence anymore, then things change. A real friend doesn’t gossip – not about you or any other person.

  • Pathological Lying

Pathological liars are exceptional – in a wrong way. At the same time, many people tend to tell a white lie or a fib on occasion. On the other hand, a pathological liar feels compelled to keep up with a façade, which often leads them to be dishonest. As you can imagine, they can’t be trusted. Pathological liars will do and say anything they deem suitable to their interests. If you are around someone whose stories don’t always add up, don’t let it slide.

  • Manipulation

The true nature of a manipulative individual doesn’t always present itself. These guys aren’t scared to add you or anyone else to the list of their “victims.” Manipulative people do what they do best because they hardly give a hoot about manipulating everybody around them. They do this because there lies no limit to how low or how far they are willing to go if their needs have to be met – even if those needs come at your expense. To them, you’re just a means to an end.

Learn to surround yourself with genuine people. Learning to sniff fake people outcomes with its perks – one you’ll surely enjoy in the long run. However, natural is rare, and fake is everywhere – which means you should always cherish the ones that truly love you.
