Britney Spears doesn’t know who Pete Davidson is
Pete Davidson is completely unknown to Britney Spears.
Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend, despite being one of the most talked-about celebs right now, does not appear to have registered on the pop icon’s radar. But she clearly still enjoys the comedian’s humor, as she recently returned to Instagram after a brief break to share a hilarious scene from Scott Disick’s Story on Tuesday.
Scott — who has three children with Kim’s sister Kourtney — shared a video recorded by Pete in which everyone except the SNL actor fell asleep during a screening of The King of Comedy, captioned “boyz night was wild.” Fans speculated that the YouTube link in Pete’s bio — which brought users to another clip from the same film — was a dig at the SKIMS founder’s ex, Kanye West, who’s been engaged in an ongoing harassment campaign against the new pair.
Given that the Kardashians’ flagship reality show debuted shortly after Britney was placed under an onerous 13-year conservatorship by her father Jamie Spears, it’s safe to assume she hasn’t been able to keep up with the Kardashians, let alone any of the current Ye drama, until recently. Regardless, she thought this video of the drowsy group was so funny that she “had to share” it to her own account, adding in a since-deleted post that she “had no idea who these people in the video are, but it “made me laugh so hard!!!!”
Britney will undoubtedly be able to catch up now that she’s free, thanks to a new show called The Kardashians, which comes on Hulu in April and will supposedly feature Kim dishing on her relationship with Pete. It’s unclear whether Kim will devote airtime to discussing the Ye problem, which includes the rapper’s overt threats against Pete and his temporary Instagram ban after calling Trevor Noah a racial slur for commenting on the matter. In any case, we’re curious to hear Britney’s thoughts on reality TV’s first family.
