After Kanye West declares her career is “over” and compares her outfit to Marge Simpson’s, Kim Kardashian admits to a fashion identity struggle
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian discusses more drama surrounding her ex-husband Kanye West, as well as admitting to having ‘panic attacks’ over creating her own fashion identity after years of being groomed by West himself.
Kim, 41, stated that she attended her first event without Kanye’s styling, to which he responded by warning her that her career was dead.
He compared her attire to Marge Simpson’s from The Simpsons, and said in an interview that SNL ‘forced’ her to declare she was divorcing Kanye, despite the fact that he hadn’t seen any divorce paperwork… while Kim claimed Kanye is actually refusing to sign the divorce papers.
Kourtney Kardashian was visiting her sister Kim when she questioned about Kanye’s well-being, after Kim revealed the newest twist in their divorce saga.
‘He did an interview last night, saying SNL got me to say I divorced him,’ they add as they repeat the joke she told on SNL, which she admitted Kanye didn’t appreciate on last week’s show.
During a walk with Khloe, Kim revealed that Kanye was enraged by the joke because she used the word ‘divorce,’ rather than ‘divorced,’ and he was enraged that she called him a rapper, stating he was ‘so much more than that’ at this point in his career.‘
They ran the joke again, with her saying, ‘When I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality,’ which got a lot of chuckles from the SNL audience, though Kanye didn’t think it was amusing.
‘I came prepared with my monologue and that really upset him. I showed him the monologue but he says he never read it, like he just didn’t read the text,’ Kim continues.
As they play a clip from Kanye’s interview, they say, “Kanye had a hard time with what I said.”
‘SNL let my wife declare on TV, ‘I divorced him,’ just to get that bar off, and I ain’t never seen the papers.’ In the interview, Kanye stated, “We’re not even divorced.”
‘Because it’s not final,’ Kourtney says, and Kim clarifies that he stated, ‘I haven’t signed the divorce papers.’
‘Well, what’s he waiting for?’ Kourtney thought. ‘I don’t know, I question him all the time,’ Kim responds.
‘He says he’ll sign them, but then he says, ‘Well, I don’t want a divorce, so I’m not going to sign them,” Kim tells Kourtney.
‘I’ve always been really protective of Kanye and not revealing a lot of the horrible things that have happened, just because he’s not here doing the show,’ Kim confesses.
‘Also, if I do something on a reality program, people will say, ‘How dare she talk about it,’ and he can write a song about it, and people will say, ‘That’s so creative and expressive.’ ‘There are always two sides being conveyed in two distinct ways, and one is respected while the other is not,’ Kim explains.
‘I’m certain now. When I filed, I knew it had to be done because I knew that wasn’t the right environment for me, and now I’m feeling great,’ Kim told Kourtney.
‘I guess you’re like, Who am I now?’ Kourtney continued. ‘Yeah, you’re right,’ Kim acknowledged. ‘I came to the point where I wanted to ask him for advice on everything, including what I should dress. What should I wear? I’m suffering panic attacks right now.’
‘Kanye styled me completely for SNL, then I won the Innovator Award for SKIMS at the Wall Street Journal Magazine,’ she continued.
‘And he told me my career is over and he gave me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar,’ Kim continued after Kanye contacted her after the Wall Street Journal awards, and Kourtney didn’t know what to say.
Kim starts the episode studying hard for the bar test, saying, “This month has been insane. SNL, Kourtney and Travis got engaged, and I’m dealing with Kanye, but it’s my birthday today.’
‘I am 41 today, and the only thing on my mind is taking the baby bar, which is coming up any minute,’ she confesses, referring to the First-Year Law Students’ Examination.
‘This is my last chance to take this test, and if I don’t pass, my whole law school journey is over,’ she confesses.
