Mike Tyson was defended by Ice-T and Gene Simmons after video appeared of him punching an airplane passenger
Following the release of video of Mike Tyson striking someone onboard an airplane, celebrities such as Gene Simmons and Ice-T have expressed their support for the former boxer.
In the moments leading up to the confrontation, which was also caught on tape and released by TMZ, the passenger was “aggressive” and “harassing” the 55-year-old, according to Tyson’s representatives.
“If you’re being heckled in public like Mike Tyson was you should legally get a hall pass to beat someone’s ass,” Jake Paul tweeted the day after the incident.
“This generation thinks they can get away with anything.”
Kiss leader Gene Simmons echoed Paul’s sentiments, tweeting “Agreed!” with a news report about Paul’s remark.
Meanwhile, rapper Ice-T slammed the man who heckled Tyson on the plane in a series of tweets. Ice-T tweeted, “Clownass forgot he wasn’t behind his keyboard.”
In a statement, Tyson’s representatives alleged that a passenger threw a water bottle at the former heavyweight world champion’s head.
Tyson had boarded a flight from San Francisco to Florida, but he disembarked after the altercation and was later arrested.
