‘Give her a call’ – Keanu Reeves went out of his way to make an 80-year-old fan’s day
If you live under a rock, as many of you do, you may not be aware that Keanu Reeves is most known for his roles in The Matrix and John Wick. It’s rare these days to hear anything unfavorable about Keanu; in fact, when it comes to Hollywood actors, he’s practically a saint. He’s always gone out of his way to be a decent person to his followers, and this is his most recent kind deed.
As previously stated, Keanu Reeves is a very remarkable individual, whether in Hollywood or not. He has a down-to-earth demeanor and gives the idea that he like to consider before acting or speaking. There aren’t many of us who aren’t superstars who can claim the same, so there’s another reason to like this guy. He also invited his mother to the 2020 Academy Awards as his date. I mean, how much better can it get?
Keanu Reeves stands out for a variety of reasons, including his dashing good looks (that smile! Those eyes! ), his acting talents and superb taste in screenplays, and the fact that his mother is a choice for a date to a critical night in his career. What about his beautiful and simple love of the slow life, his grounded personality, and the fact that he communicates with people on a human level? Keanu believes that no fan is too elderly, and he decided to call an 80-year-old woman (a huge fan). He did it just to make her happy, and now he’s prepared to take time out of his day to make the elderly happy as well!
The 80-year-old fan’s granddaughter presented her version of the story
“My grandmother had a crush on Keanu Reeves because he reminded her of my grandfather when he was young. Saw all his stuff, from Bill and Ted to the Matrix. She had a stroke in her early 70s and was pretty much housebound for the last 10 years of her life, so watching movies was her main hobby, and became almost like friends to her because she so rarely got to see any of her own.”
“Not too long after the Matrix came out my uncle was in LA for business and was eating at a swanky restaurant when Keanu Reeves came in with a woman.”
“When he finished his meal my uncle came up to their table and said ‘I don’t usually do this, but I just wanted you to know that my 80-year-old mother loves you and has seen all of your movies. You remind her of my dad.’”
“He said Keanu asked if he had a cell phone on him and when he confirmed that he did, he said ‘Give her a call, I want to talk to her.’ He spoke with my grandmother for several minutes and it made her year. She was so isolated and his genuine kindness to her and interest in her showed what a truly amazing man he is.”
Gentle and heart-warming gestures of compassion are sometimes all we need. More Keanu Reeves in the world would make it a lot better place, and sometimes all it takes is a phone call.
