Britney Spears is expecting her third child
Britney Spears has announced that she is expecting her third child. On Monday afternoon (April 11), the pop star revealed the news with a photo of a pink teacup and flowers on Instagram. Spears, 40, claimed that she began to wonder if she was “food pregnant” before picking up a pregnancy test and discovering she was expecting a child:
“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back … I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???’ My husband said ‘No you’re food pregnant silly!!!’ So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby … 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant. It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it… I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money shot of me like they unfortunately already have … it’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible … women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret… This time I will be doing yoga every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love!!!”
This is Spears’ first child with her fiancé, 28-year-old Sam Asghari, whom she referred to as her husband on Instagram. Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, are Spears’ children with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 44.
“Marriage and kids are a natural part of a good partnership filled with love and respect,” Asghari wrote in an Instagram post later confirming the pregnancy. “I’ve always wanted to be a father, and it’s not something I take lightly. It’s the most crucial job I’ll ever have.”
Spears had already suggested that she wants another child, including during a shocking court session in November 2021 to end her 13-year conservatorship, which Judge Brenda Penny of the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled to end in November 2021. Spears expressed her dissatisfaction with not being able to remove her IUD during a hearing that summer, saying, “I want to be able to get married and have a baby.”
Spears and Asghari got engaged in September 2021, and she flaunted the gorgeous ring on Instagram.
Spears said on Instagram after returning from her Hawaii trip in January that she experienced a “terrible” stomach virus, comparing it to discomfort during pregnancy. “I guess I have a tiny bug,” she remarked in part. “The only time I’ve had a feeling like this is when I was pregnant…the worst part is the sickness… It’s as if I can’t get out of bed, so I go to the gym to try to wake up my system!!! It works like a clock. I work up a sweat and then go to the restroom and puke.”
