The Rock offers a truck to the man who helped him when he was a homeless teen
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had a rocky route to fame, but he had one lifetime buddy, Bruno Lauer, by his side through it all.
The Rock surprised Lauer with a Ford F150 vehicle on New Year’s Day, claiming that his pal will be “covered” when he decides to retire. The Fast and Furious star shared the touching encounter with his Instagram fans, revealing that Lauer had a significant impact on his life.
The actor and his mother were evicted from their Hawaii home when he was a teenager. The Rock reflected on the experience in a social media post, noting that he initially believed he was being transported to Nashville to live with his father. Lauer, on the other hand, enabled The Rock to live with him. Nine years later, Lauer aided The Rock once more as he fought to establish himself as a professional wrestler.
The Rock revealed that when Lauer gave him his last $40, he bought his first car from a heroin addict. Now it was time for the actor to repay the favor. The Rock posted on Instagram:
“Merry Christmas, Bruno Love you, brother! 100% crackhead free! My life (especially my teenage years) has been full of the wildest twists and turns – yet God and the universe had always found a way to put a few people in my path that would change the trajectory of the road I was going down.”
