The smarter a woman is, the harder it is for her to get married
Your singleness would be seriously linked to your intelligence. Surprising right?
Women who lead active lives do not always discover the ideal partner with whom to form a romantic connection and do not even consider marrying. Then there’s the matter of why it’s so difficult for a woman to get married.
If you’re already 30 and haven’t gotten married yet, don’t worry, from now on you shouldn’t feel bad when they ask you about your marital status. According to research, your singleness would be seriously linked to your intelligence. Surprising right? Well, it turns out that the study carried out by various English universities reveals that women are 40% less likely to marry if they are successful or have university and postgraduate studies.
To find this result, the English experts analyzed a group of 900 women and men during their 40 years. All of them were observed since they were 11 years old. After a series of analyses, it was concluded that the better a woman does in the workplace, the more difficult it will be for her to marry.
This generally occurs when individuals opt to pursue higher education and are motivated to continue their professional development by their intellectual ability. That isn’t to say women don’t want to marry; rather, they prefer to wait for a man who is intellectual, smart, and energetic.
Men, on the other hand, are less likely to agree. It just so happens that the more prepared they are and the higher their IQ, the more likely they are to say “yes I want.” It turns out that they usually chose lifelong companions who are similar to their concept of mother, i.e., who support them at home while they are at work.
For the psychologist and professor at the University of Nottingham, Paul Brown, “women want more independence, but at the same time we are all looking for relationships. The paradox of the post-feminist position is to create a social system in which independence and interdependence can flourish.”
However, the IQ is not to blame for everything. According to experts, the phenomena can also occur in the case of women with more years of schooling, where they spend more time studying than other women and delay their weddings beyond the moment of their maximum attractiveness and fertility.
Now that you know, when you’re called a spinster or think about bothering a friend who hasn’t gotten married yet, take a good look at it. Well, it may be that her high IQ does not allow her to marry.
