Mom goes viral on TikTok for returning to work 12 days after giving birth – she gets a lot of love

Motherhood is difficult, stressful, and exhausting on even the most capable mothers. No mother should be forced to return to work only a few days after giving birth. Maternity leave is necessary because babies rely on their mothers to grow and nurture them.

Rebecca, a 26-year-old American, is the subject of today’s article. She made a film and published it on TikTok, a truly heartbreaking movie that shows her working and being unable to be with her daughter in the NICU due to the system’s inefficiency.

The love of a mother

Eden, Rebecca’s baby, was born at 27 weeks prematurely. Eden was placed in the NICU to help her develop because she was born prematurely. That is difficult enough for any mother to suffer and endure. However, things took a turn for the worst when she was forced to return to work just 12 days after Eden was born!

This heartbreaking movie depicts how distraught and troubled this new mother is, unable to care for her newborn while struggling to pay bills.

Rebecca mentions in her video:

“You return to work 12 days after having a premature baby at 27 weeks, so that when she is eventually discharged from the NICU you can spend what little maternity leave you have with her.

“You try to pump at work every three hours, but they’re understaffed.

“Your milk supply is diminishing at 8 weeks postpartum.

“Will you even have milk available when she gets home?

“What do other NICU parents do? How can anyone afford to stay home during an NICU stay?

“How can anyone handle the guilt when you have to work and can’t be with your baby?

As she tries to get on with her day at work, the utter trauma and sadness on Rebecca’s face is obvious. For moms, postpartum is a challenging time; it can range from sadness to decreased milk production, among other things. This young lady, on the other hand, did not give up.

Humanity and help

Rebecca received incredible support from all over the world after her video went viral on TikTok, demonstrating the true power of social media. People asked whether they could give her money to help, and strangers, friends, and people she’d never met jumped in to offer assistance in any way they could — a true display of empathy in the digital era.

Jessica could finally hold her baby and be with her in the NICU after an extraordinarily difficult period as a first-time mother. She made a video to express her gratitude for everyone’s love and support. Eden may be seen resting soundly and making cute baby noises as her mother keeps her in her arms.
