After 24 years of relationship, a homeless couple get a surprise makeover and charity wedding
Some stories are so heartbreaking that they simply must be shared and discussed. This comes from Pampanga, Philippines, and tells the story of two individuals who don’t have much except pure love.
Rosalyn Ferrer and Rommel Basco, both in their fifties, have lived together for more than 24 years, collecting trash and selling it for tiny profits while attempting to live happily and joyfully in a small cabin.
They have six lovely children and work extremely hard to provide for their family. Because of their financial circumstances, the two could never legally marry, but they’ve always fantasized about it.
Rosalyn told The Daily Mail that she had always wanted to wear a white dress:
“When I was a small child, I fantasized about having a white wedding. It’s been a long time since I’ve thought about it.”
“We never had enough money, so all we worried about was obtaining enough food each day.” Now I consider myself quite fortunate that this has occurred. I’m quite grateful.”
A man named Richard Strandz would play a crucial part in realizing their aspirations. Richard Strandz owns a salon, and when he heard about the couple, he immediately wanted to help them in any way he could. He gained the support of his friends and met the couple.
Richard expressed his feelings as follows:
“I heard that the two have been living together for over two decades but are unable to finance a little wedding.”
“I was moved by their love story, so I contacted some friends who own a wedding supply company and proposed a charity wedding to them.”
Richard and his pals surprised this amazing couple with a makeover and even a complete wedding photoshoot. They ultimately had the wedding of their dreams, all while never giving up on each other. This year, Richard intends to prepare their wedding with the help of his buddies. He stated:
“True love is something to be thankful for. It’s incredibly special, whether you’re wealthy or not.”
The couple was overcome with delight and happiness at the fact that someone who didn’t expect anything from them would do something so important to them.
