The girl is allergic to water, including her own tears: “Our heart breaks, she says she’s burning!”
The young lady suffers from an unusual medical issue that causes her to be allergic to water.
Bath time is usually a pleasant experience for most children. They get to play with toys and soap bubbles as well as splash around in water, especially during the summer. Bath time, on the other hand, is a nightmare for this little girl, who is allergic to water.
The girl is allergic to all types of water, even tears. A young girl suffers from a severe allergic reaction to water. After being diagnosed with a rare condition, little Ivy Angerman’s case made the rounds in the media.
“Our heart is breaking, and it says it is burning!”
Aquagenic urticaria is an uncommon condition that affects her skin whenever she comes into touch with fluids, according to doctors.
The girl is allergic to water, and even when she cries, her condition worsens. She feels pain similar to third-degree burns from both the water and the tears.
Ivy’s face turns red when she cries, indicating that she is in pain.
Little Ivy, from Minnesota, suffers from aquagenic urticaria, a condition in which hives or rashes appear shortly after skin comes into touch with water. Everything from tears and perspiration to snow and rainfall is a hazard for Ivy here, regardless of temperature or kind of water.
“I’ve done everything to make her suffering go away, but nothing has worked,” the girl’s mother adds.
The effect can last anywhere between 15 minutes and an hour. Antihistamines are the only drugs that can help her cope with pain more comfortably in the short term. However, she will develop immunity to them soon, and they will cease to function.
The only thing the girl’s mother can do is keep her away from the water. As a result, girl’s evenings are only held twice a week.
“I wonder if one day her throat will start to swell up when she drinks it,” she says. “We don’t know if she’ll be able to go to day care or what job she’ll be able to have in the future.” said the girl’s mother in an interview with People.
