This 53-year-old lady gave birth to twins, two years apart
A 53-year-old Chinese-American lady thinks ethnicity isn’t significant two years after giving birth to her son’s twin sister at 51 with white sperm and egg donors.
This story is about never giving up on your dreams and believing in yourself. Lan Ma, a Chinese-American lady from Pennsylvania, is 53 years old. She is a single mother who has always preferred to do things her own rather than in a partnership. Thomas and Tyler, her two teenage sons, are 19 and 17 years old now.
Lan Ma chose to pursue IVF therapy at the age of 50 in order to have additional children. She was unconcerned about nationality or color and only wanted a healthy child. Her family has the same mature and peace-loving outlook on life as she does. Lan was able to conceive after receiving a Caucasian sperm donor and completing her IVF therapy.
Lan gave birth to her son Toby in June 2019. She had her embryo defrosted two years later, and she became pregnant through IVF embryo transfer, giving birth to her fourth child, Tara, in November 2021. Surprisingly, the last two children are twins and are two years apart!
Lan claims that her friends were skeptical of her becoming pregnant at such a young age, but it didn’t stop her from pursuing her objectives and attaining her goals!
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Lan said:
‘I am in good shape and extremely healthy so the pregnancy was perfect. I didn’t have any complications despite my age. To me, age is just a number”
‘I am lucky as both frozen embryo transfer worked first time as I look after my body.’
‘I thought I was lucky with Toby as he is a happy boy who never cries and Tara is the exact same.
‘They look almost identical, they have the same color hair and their noses are the same.’
Lan Ma’s IVF therapy and frozen embryo transfer cost her almost $30,000 in total. She works from home and lives in a pleasant and joyful home with her family. She had no intention of dating or being with anyone; all she wanted was to have children in her life, and she wanted to watch them blossom and grow.
Lan went on to reveal more about her life, saying:
‘I have no concerns about being in my 70s when they are in their 20s.
‘There are no reasons for me to believe I will be frail and weak as I am healthier now than I was in my 30s.
‘I eat well, exercise and meditate daily which has changed my temperament to be always peaceful and calm.
‘I am fit and healthy with a lot of love to give so having Toby and Tara felt right for me.
‘They will also always have Thomas and Tyler in their lives, who are thrilled be the proud big brother and sister.’
‘Hopefully, by the time they reach their twenties, they will have a large number of nieces and nephews to enjoy.’
‘Because I work from home, I am always available to the kids.’ My mission in life is to walk alongside them as they grow up.’
This story demonstrates that if you put your heart and soul into something, nothing can stop you from reaching your goals.
