Because of something very personal, the kind-hearted movie actor, who is also recognized as one of Hollywood’s decent guys, has refused to keep all of his money to himself.

Because his younger sister Kim, who is now 55, apparently battled the cancer for ten years, Keanu took it upon himself to make a difference.

In 1991, the actor’s sister was afflicted with blood cancer, and he never forgot about her ordeal.

According to DailyMail, the 57-year-old actor was paid $10 million up front and earned a total of $35 million for the franchise’s first picture in 1999.

Reeves’ commitment to his sister led to the sale of his home and the postponement of the Matrix sequels; he also reportedly spent $5 million on therapies to aid Kim’s recovery.

In the early 1990s, Keanu became her primary caregiver, helping to nurse her back to health while his film career soared.

He stated, “You know, she was always there for me. I’ll be there for her at all times “.. She recovered from her illness, and Keanu went on to found a cancer foundation without putting his name on it.

Keanu, branded “the internet’s boyfriend,” has a long history of being generous.

According to a Wall Street Journal story from 2001, the celebrity gave the VFX and costume design teams a considerable chunk of his second and third Matrix film back-end points (which defined how much of the films’ profit he would receive).

“He felt that they were the ones who made the movie and that they should participate,” the report stated.
Keanu, who is known for donating a substantial portion of his earnings to charity, auctioned off a 15-minute virtual Zoom date in June 2020 to raise money for Camp Rainbow Gold, a children’s cancer charity.
