As her cat passes away, a little girl sings to it, but their particular bond remains

Cats truly become members of the family, therefore losing one is never easy.

Bailey, the star of the famous book ‘Bailey, No Ordinary Cat,’ died of kidney failure at the age of 14 and crossed the rainbow bridge. He was a big part of his human family, and he adored his sisters as much as they adored him.

In this heartbreaking video, we watch Abby, one of the sisters, singing to Bailey in his final moments of life, a song she’d been singing to him since she was able to speak.

Abby is just four years old, but the two have been together since she was born, and all of her joyful memories revolve around Bailey.

It’s heartbreaking to understand that this was their final moment together, but at least they both enjoyed this beautiful moment, determined to make every minute count. I believe Bailey was aware of what was going on and was relieved to be in the arms of someone he loved.

Six months later, something unexpected happened, and it seemed like the ideal time to open their hearts and welcome someone new into their family, who, by the way, has four legs.

In the following video, we see how amazing Bailey’s bond with all the girls was, as well as meet the newest addition of their family, A Cat Named Carrot:

Isn’t it sweet to see how attached these girls have become to both of their cats? I’m sure Bailey would agree that they’re lucky to have Carrot in their lives now.

Carrot, like Bailey, has become a social media sensation; her Instagram page has over 152,000 followers (compared to Bailey’s 206,000) and is still growing.

Carrot’s mother, Erin, hadn’t intended for her daughter to follow in Bailey’s footsteps, but I guess it was fate.

“Little did we know six months after his death, Abby and her sister Hannah would be surprised with a kitten they named immediately ‘Carrot’ which I thought was hilarious,” Erin added.

“I had no intentions of creating a Facebook page or Instagram account for Carrot. Never in a million years did I think I was going to get another cat just like Bailey. I worried the girls would be disappointed in the kitten not wanting to do the things Bailey did. I even warned them for months, if we ever got a cat again, it likely won’t do all the things Bailey did.”

But Erin was completely wrong: “Well, we hit the kitty jackpot again and within 24 hours of having Carrot, I knew we had a special girl. Girl ginger cats are rare. I believe 85% of the time gingers are boys. Look it up.”

She is correct that female ginger cats are uncommon, but in my experience, most ginger cats are extremely affectionate toward their owners. They also make excellent friends for youngsters, which is something to consider if you have young children and are considering acquiring a cat.

“I feel my prayers were answered. I don’t believe in reincarnation but many believe Bailey came back as Carrot. I do believe in God answering prayers and he answered mine. Carrot healed our broken hearts. We were devastated when we lost Bailey,” Erin added to  News4SanAntonio.

Carrot and the girls will have a lovely life together, and Bailey will always be in their hearts, in my opinion.
