A couple responds to trolls and jealously from other men with pure love

Shane Burcaw is the subject of today’s amazing, life-changing story. Shane, a remarkable human being, has been in a wheelchair since he was two years old. Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a hereditary illness that causes muscles to weaken and waste away.

He is now 29 years old, and this is his inspirational story about discovering true love and being incredibly strong-willed.

Shane caught the attention of Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute, our favorite character on “The Office,” a few years ago. Rainn was so taken with Shane’s narrative that he decided to make a short documentary on him.

Shane received an abundance of love and support from all over the world shortly after the documentary aired. Strangers emailed him, saying how moved they were by his story and his tremendous willpower to fight through the pain. One of those emails was unique – it came from a girl named Hannah.

Shane recalls his reaction to Hannah’s email:

“Almost every email I received told me that I was an inspiration — and not in a good way. Hannah’s email didn’t reference my disability at all.”

“She complimented my humor and what we had in common. She used parentheses in her email in a way that like just did it for me.”

Shane became concerned when he realized Hannah was interested in being with him. He goes on to say:

“I felt like a cliché, like the jealous disabled guy who can’t be there and is worried his mega-hot girlfriend is gonna find a better mega-hot guy.”

Hannah, on the other hand, admired Shane for his brilliance, wit, and strength.

Hannah expresses her feelings regarding Shane:

“I hadn’t met anybody that I really wanted that much time with.”

Because society is cruel, and some people can never be happy for others because of their anxieties, the pair married in 2020, making many people jealous.

When asked how others respond when they see the two together, Shane explained that they are never mistaken for his wife:

“I tell them, ‘No, this is my wife.'” People’s jaws drop, and they say things like, ‘Oh, wow, excellent for you.'”

Shane also mentioned how his intelligence and wit had helped him solve most of his problems:

“I developed a very thick skin early on. I think that’s kind of where my sense of humor and my sarcasm were born from because otherwise, I’d be upset every day.”

When random men see Hannah and her husband together, they become envious and tell her she can do better, which she ignores and her husband smiles. Shane expressed his feelings about their relationship by saying:

“Our intimacy benefits from my disability. A big thing for me is that our intimacy is not just me enjoying it, and that relates to my burden complex.”
